Which video formats work?
Any format your browser can play. MP4 and WebM open almost everywhere. Containers browsers do not handle, such as MKV or AVI, cannot be read — convert those to MP4 first.
Does the video quality matter?
No. The picture is never read at all, only the audio track. A 4K file and a 480p one give the same MP3, and the big one takes no longer.
Which bitrate should I pick?
For speech, 128 kbps is plenty. With music in the mix, 192 kbps is a safe middle, and 320 kbps keeps as much as the source has. The audio inside a video is already compressed, though, so a higher number cannot bring back what is gone.
Can I paste a YouTube link?
No. This tool only opens files already on your device. Fetching a video from a link on your behalf is not something it does.
Where do the files go?
